iN PHOTOS: Kamloops photographer captures birds enjoying spring weather

Spring has sprung and a photographer in Kamloops grabbed some great shots of birds soaking up the sun.

Nature photographer Valerie Walsh captured a huge range of bird species around Kamloops from little chickadees to great blue herons.

There are 327 different bird species living in Thompson-Nicola region. The Kamloops bird count in the winter had 42 participants who spent a total of 72 hours, walked 65 kilometres and drove 447 km to count a total of 70 species and 6,274 individual birds.
