For Kim Cardinal wild horses near Spences Bridge aren’t just a great subject for her photography.
When Cardinal moved to the area with her husband she didn’t know anyone.
“We moved up here in 2022 from Chilliwack to retire. I never knew anyone up here. Rather than getting to know people. I have made a bond with the two different groups of wild horses. They know me as I go find them all the time and sit with them,” she said.
In 2023 they lost their home in some of the flooding and had to move, but Cardinal still makes time to go out and see the wild horses.
“The mountains I can go up are endless. My hubby doesn’t come with me, it’s not his thing. For me, spring is here, and I’ll be back up the mountains taking pics again,” she said.
