KAMLOOPS — A multi-vehicle crash reportedly involving a tanker carrying hazardous cargo has closed Highway 1 north of Lytton.
B.C. Ambulance Service got a call at 11:30 a.m. for a multi-vehicle collision with explosion 25 km north of Lytton. Ground and air ambulance are on scene waiting to transport victims, though the number of people involved in the crash or the extent of the injuries is unknown at this time.
The highway is closed in both directions between Jackass Mountain and Spences Bridge. A detour is currently available via Highways 99 and 12 through Lillooet. The Coquihalla Highway is also currently closed due to avalanche control.
