Kamloops woman wins 2nd big lottery prize

A Kamloops woman won big on her scratch and win lottery ticket.

Merna Johnston won $50,000 when she checked her ticket at Northills Mall on Tranquille Road in Kamloops, according to a BC Lottery Corporation release. BCLC doesn't say when she bought the ticket or when she redeemed it.

"You broke my machine Merna," the retailer at the mall said after scanning her Money Wreath scratch and win ticket.

Johnston said she was shocked because it was her second time winning a big prize.

"I won once before playing bingo and it feels great to win again," she said in the release.

Johnston says she plans to pay some bills with her winnings and then invest the rest.
