MONT-SAINTE-ANNE — Canadian Evan Bichon finished third in the final World Cup men’s snowboard cross race of the season on Saturday.
Bichon, from Mackenzie, B.C., finished the big final behind Australia’s Adam Lambert and Germany’s Leon Ulbricht.
Ulbricht claimed the Crystal Globe as the season’s overall leader with 435 points, 22 more than Lambert.
Olympic silver medallist Éliot Grondin of Sainte-Marie, Que., was the top Canadian overall in eighth. He was eliminated in the 1/8 final on Saturday.
Britain’s Charlotte Bankes won the women’s race, followed by France’s Chloe Trespeuch and Switzerland’s Sina Siegenthaler. Bankes also won the women’s Crystal Globe, beating out Trespeuch.
Audrey McManiman of St-Ambroise-de-Kildare, Que., and Kennedy Justinen of Rocky Mountain House, Alta., were eliminated in the quarterfinals.
