Board of variance applications being accepted
WEST KELOWNA – The District of West Kelowna is now accepting applications to fill five at-large positions on the Board of Variance for a three-year term.
The Board of Variance deals with applications for minor variances in situations where compliance with the zoning bylaw regarding siting, dimensions or size of a building or structure, siting of a manufactured home, etc. would cause a person undue hardship.
The Board may also consider applications for additions and structural alterations to “non-conforming” buildings. The Board of Variance is a quasi-judicial body independent from Council.
Citizens who are interested in volunteering their time to sit on the Board are invited to submit an application form to the District of West Kelowna, attention: City Clerk. Forms are available on the District’s website at www.districtofwestkelowna.ca or at 2760 Cameron Road, West Kelowna, BC.
For additional information on the Board of Variance, please contact Development Services at 778-797-8830.
In order to be considered, submit your application to the City Clerk prior to 4:30 pm February 24, 2015.
