Pacific Air launches new service between Kamloops and Vancouver

Kamloops officials are celebrating the return of Pacific Coastal Airlines to Kamloops skies, with the start of a new non-stop flight service between Vancouver and Kamloops.

"As we work through this pandemic, this air service will be an important component in Kamloops's economic recovery," Mayor Ken Christian said in a news release. The first flight touched down at Kamloops Airport yesterday at 3:25 p.m., part of a service that will operate 6 days a week on a Beechcraft B1900 aircraft.

According to a Pacific Coast Airlines release, the flights will support travel for essential service workers, passengers travelling for medical appointments and time sensitive cargo transportation.

The airline will leave Vancouver at 2:35 p.m. for Kamloops Sunday to Friday and return from Kamloops at 3:55 p.m.

Pacific Coastal Airlines says new safety measures include "enhanced aircraft sanitation practices", mandatory face masks, and the answering of health check questions before boarding.
