Three arrested after armed woman runs into Kamloops home

Neighbours were evacuated after a woman was seen running into a Kamloops home while carrying a gun last week.

Just after 1 p.m. April 3, police were called to the 1700 block of Ord Road, where three people were eventually arrested.

According to a Kamloops RCMP news release, multiple officers, including the heavily-armed Emergency Response Team, responded to the house after a woman was seen running in.

Neighbours were evacuated from their homes as police sought to clear the house.

Police first arrested a man and a woman, then determined another man was still inside, according to a news release. He was also arrested without incident and the firearm was seized.

According to Kamloops RCMP, it’s still under investigation and the two men were released without charges. The woman remained in custody due to outstanding warrants.

Whether the woman was an intruder or why she ran into the home carrying a firearm isn’t clear.
