The southbound lanes of the Coquihalla Highway are closed between Hope and Merritt this afternoon.
DriveBC reports the southbound lanes of Highway 5 six kilometres north of Hope to one kilometre south of Merritt closed due to a vehicle collision this afternoon, Feb. 17.
A social media post is reporting two semi-trailers are involved. Traffic is backed up for a considerable distance.
There is no estimated time of reopening, but an assessment is in progress.
A detour is available via Highway 1 and Highway 3 with southbound lanes closed four km south of exit 286.
Motorists are advised to check DriveBC for updates.
