Kamloops RCMP investigating after shots fired in Rayleigh

Kamloops RCMP are asking for public assistance after someone shot a windshield on a vehicle in Rayleigh early this morning.

Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Const. Crystal Evelyn says a white vehicle, parked at a residence on the 300 block of Chetwynd Drive, has a gunshot hole in its windshield after the shot was fired at about 1 a.m.

"A vehicle was reported driving up and down the roadway," Evelyn said. "A small grey sedan ended up approaching a residence. Two men approached, a gunshot was heard and the men ran and then sped off (in their vehicle)."

Evelyn says police spoke with the damaged vehicle's owner, as well as people in the area, and also reviewed surveillance.

The investigation continues and at this point there are no suspects.

"If the public is aware of any information we'd appreciate they pass it on to us, " said Evelyn.

Anyone with information, or surveillance video, is asked to please call Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000.
