Kamloops Fire Rescue at landfill fire

Kamloops Fire Rescue is currently at Mission Flats Landfill dousing a blaze at the metal pile.

The landfill is currently closed and residents are asked to avoid the area.

Kamloops Fire Rescue platoon captain Troy Grant said that residents who smell smoke in their neighbourhood should shelter in place due to the nature of the fire.

"We have lots of firefighters there and lots of smoke in the City of Kamloops," he said.
