More detours: Tranquille Drive back in lengthy construction schedule

Road construction begins anew on a major arterial route in Kamloops today.

Commuters found themselves making detours today as the city resumed work on phase two of the Tranquille Road sanitary sewer main upgrade.

Road crews will be replacing the main from Singh Street to 12 Street and completing upgrades including intersection and boulevard improvements and landscaping.

The changes follows work in 2020 when the sanitary gravity main on Tranquille Rd. was replaced from Southill Street to Singh Street.

Project details, including detour maps, project updates, transit information and traffic webcams can be viewed at LetsTalk.Kamloops.ca/Tranquille. Traffic detour maps will be posted on the Let’s Talk project page, which can be seen here.

The project is anticipated to run until the fall.
