Canadian Forces Hercules aircraft pays Kamloops a visit
Kamloops residents were casting their eyes to the sky to catch a glimpse of a Canadian Forces Hercules aircraft that landed at the airport today.
The huge plane made a quick visit to the Kamloops airport where the crew briefly conducted exercises this afternoon, March 1, but the visit caused a bit of concern for some people because of what appeared to be smoke or fuel from the aircraft.
Airport staff say the plume was "just exhaust."

Ed Ratuski, manager director of the airport, says the Hercules was in Kamloops for about two hours, while crew were conducting parachuting drills.
"It's not uncommon for the (Canadian Forces) flights to conduct exercises here," Ratuski said, adding they usually fly here at least a few times a year. He didn't know where the flight originated from.
The aircraft arrived just before noon and left moments before 3 p.m.
