Germany’s Marion Thees wins World Cup women’s skeleton race at Whistler

WHISTLER, B.C. – Germany’s Marion Thees won a World Cup women’s skeleton race Friday, finishing with a two-run time of 1 minute, 50.92 seconds.

Britain’s Elizabeth Yarnold was second in 1:51.17, and Canada’s Sarah Reid was third in 1:51.09.

Thees took the lead in the season standings, 32 points ahead of American Katie Uhlaender.

Noelle Pikus-Pace was the top American, finishing sixth. Uhlaender was seventh after winning last week in Park City, Utah.
