TORONTO – A technical problem with one of the datafeeds at the Toronto Stock Exchange is affecting how traders see some real-time numbers.
The TMX Group Ltd. (TSX:X), which operates the TSX, says that the glitch has caused both the headline S&P/TSX composite index numbers, as well as some specific stock prices to be affected.
Companies with ticker symbols beginning with A-L are not being updated on this data feed, which is sent to various sources including the stock market’s own website and other sources like GlobeInvestor and business television network BNN.
However, some other sources like Yahoo! Canada Finance appeared unaffected by the outage.
The TMX says actual stock trading is still underway despite the data problem.
Technical staff were looking into the problem and the TMX planned to provide additional updates.
“Data is flowing, trading is occurring,” said TMX spokeswoman Carolyn Quick. “But this one feed is affected.”
