Quebec police to investigate after employee fired from coroner’s office

QUEBEC – Quebec police are investigating the possibly unsavoury conduct of a coroner’s employee who was fired last year.

Chief coroner Louise Nolet refused earlier this week to discuss media reports the employee was a morgue worker who collected pictures of dead women and children.

Nolet is asking provincial police to investigate new information that has come to light.

She said the employee was dismissed last March, several months after officials received a tip from a colleague.

The firing occurred after an investigation.

Nolet said none of the actions were related to child pornography and that an investigation has concluded no criminal acts were involved.
