Canadian non-fiction author A.S.A. Harrison dies before release of first novel

TORONTO – Canadian non-fiction author A.S.A. Harrison has died just months before the release of her debut novel.

A publicist for Penguin Canada said in an email that Harrison passed away on Sunday. She was 65.

Harrison’s first novel, “The Silent Wife,” is due for release on June 25, and she was at work on another psychological thriller prior to her death.

Harrison was the author of four non-fiction books. Past titles include “Orgasms” (Coach House Press), “Revelations: Essays on Striptease and Sexuality” with Margaret Dragu (Nightwood Editions) and “Zodicat Speaks” (Viking Penguin).

According to her online biography, Harrison was married to a visual artist and based in Toronto.
