Business as usual as Bayern Munich prepares for Wembley final against Borussia Dortmund
LONDON – Bayern Munich is approaching its third Champions League final in four years with the self-assured calm of a team fully in control after a season of dominance.
Winger Thomas Mueller summed up the mood on Friday, saying that the showdown against Bundesliga rival Borussia Dortmund at Wembley Stadium is just “a normal Champion League game.”
Though his team knows what’s at stake on Saturday, Mueller says “We won’t let it drive us crazy.”
There was a similar sense of focus from Bayern captain Philipp Lahm, who sees victory for his side as a matter of progression.
Lahm says “the players are the right age now, the right character. There’s nothing against us winning tomorrow.”
Bayern returns to the final after last year’s painful loss on penalties to Chelsea in Munich.
