Jon Jones says Anderson Silva disrespected his gift and paid the ultimate price

TORONTO – Jon (Bones) Jones says former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva is a magnificent fighter but abused his gift.

Silva clowned his way to a loss against Chris Weidman on the weekend, dropping his gloves and getting tagged.

Jones, the UFC’s light-heavyweight title-holder, says Silva paid the ultimate price by disrespecting his opponent.

Said Jones: “He just got disrespectful and the war gods made him pay for it. But he’s still that great Anderson Silva in my books.”

The defeat moved Jones past Silva into top spot in the UFC’s pound-for-pound fighter rankings.

Jones and Swedish light-heavyweight Alexander (The Mauler) Gustafsson were in Toronto to promote their UFC 165 showdown on Sept. 21
