Deliberations continue in ex-Bengals cheerleader’s libel lawsuit over gossip website posts

COVINGTON, Ky. – Deliberations will continue for a second day in the defamation trial of a website that published gossip about a former Cincinnati Bengals cheerleader.

Jurors are set to return Thursday to federal court in Covington, Ky., after failing to reach a verdict Wednesday in nearly six hours of deliberations.

Sarah Jones is suing over posts thedirty.com website published in 2009.

Jones is seeking damages from the Scottsdale, Ariz.-based website and its operator. The posts alleged she had sex with every Bengals player and probably had two sexually transmitted diseases. She says both were false and accuses the website operator of malice.

The posts were unrelated to the former high school teacher’s guilty plea last year to having sex with an underage former student.

The first trial ended with a hung jury.
