Noel has confidence in Jets’ goaltending but agrees it must get better

WINNIPEG – The Winnipeg Jets’ Ondrej Pavelec has failed to make the cut as one of ESPN’s top 25 NHL goaltenders.

Given his numbers last season, Jets coach Claude Noel doesn’t dispute the ranking.

His save percentage of .905 ranked 51st in the NHL.

Noel says the Jets have to improve in many areas this season, including goaltending.

But he still says he has confidence that they have the goaltenders who can get them to the playoffs.

Pavelec is expected to play Tuesday night when the Jets face the Edmonton Oilers in an exhibition game.
