Four-year-old toddler watches as mom is arrested during police drug raid

PENTICTON, B.C. – A woman from Penticton, B.C., is facing a drug trafficking charge after being arrested at an apartment where her four-year-old daughter was watching television.

RCMP Cpl. Dan Moskaluk says 28-year-old Mandy Jo Squakin and her boyfriend were arrested on Wednesday after a police search of their apartment.

Investigators say they found 15 grams of methamphetamine, 14 grams of cocaine, cell phones, drug trafficking paraphernalia and a fake handgun.

The couple was taken into custody and released, and Squakin now faces a charge of possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine and methamphetamine.

The little girl has been taken into the care of the Ministry of Children and Family Development.
