Penticton RCMP are investigating a hit and run that was accompanied by an assault with a weapon this past weekend.
Officers were called to reports of a hit and run near the intersection of Manitoba Street and Edmonton Avenue around 1 a.m. Sunday, March 14, according to an RCMP media release.
Several witnesses were on hand to see a physical confrontation, RCMP said.
When officers arrived they found a man suffering from a stab wound who was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The suspect, or suspects, departed along with their vehicle prior to police arriving.
“The investigation is in its early stages," Penticton RCMP media relations officer Const. James Grandy said in the release.
"We’re asking anyone who may have witnessed this incident or who has any other information, to contact us.”
