WINNIPEG – A woman who was in the Winnipeg hospital waiting room where a man died waiting for treatment says it was obvious he needed help.
Lakhwinder Pannu told an inquest into the death of Brian Sinclair that she took her daughter to the Health Sciences Centre on Sept. 19, 2008.
She said Sinclair smelled of urine and obviously needed some attention.
But she said she didn’t tell anyone about Sinclair’s condition because she was afraid ER nurses might mistreat her daughter.
Sinclair was referred to the ER by a clinic doctor.
The double-amputee died during a 34-hour wait from a treatable bladder infection caused by a blocked catheter.
