Shambhala Music Festival postponed for another year

Shambhala Music Festival has been postponed for 2021 due to public health orders.

The event normally would take place in early August in the Kootenays, but after flip-flopping on the event in 2020, organizers have decided to play it safe and plan for a restart in 2022.

"In light of the ongoing public health order… it has become clear that proceeding in 2021 is not possible. Like you, we are more than ready for live music to return, but there are still too many unknowns right now," a statement from festival organizers reads.

Organizers of the Salmo event say there are planning for a "truly spectacular and special event" when the festival returns next year.

They also noted all tickets currently held will be redeemable across 2022, 2023 or 2024.

Those who purchased 2020 tickers will receive emails to register for the year they prefer to attend.

"We thank you for your continued support, it means the world to us. We miss all of our guests, crew, artists, and vendors deeply. Until we are together again, take forth the spirit of Shambhala: love one another, embrace our differences, dance like no one’s watching, express yourself and always, be kind."
