City begins next phase of flood protection works in Marshall Field
VERNON – The City of Vernon has moved forward with the next phase of flood protection works in Marshall Field, with work beginning this week. Work under this phase will be completed by contractor R355 Enterprises, and includes restoration and landscaping of works completed in late 2014, as well as the continuation of the channel adjacent to Okanagan Landing Road that was constructed in 2012.
The final phase of works on the Marshall Field site is proposed to start later this summer and continue through fall. Work proposed for the final phase includes connections to Vernon Creek, work in other riparian areas where environmental permits are required, and final restoration of the site.
Please note that pedestrian detours and traffic control will be in effect during construction. The City thanks residents for their patience during construction of this important flood protection project.
