No arrests after RCMP seize gun parts and police patches in Kamloops

No arrests have been made after Kamloops RCMP raided a home in Kamloops last week as part of an ongoing investigation.

Officers with the Crime Reduction Unit executed a search warrant at a home in the 2100 block of Sifton Avenue in the Aberdeen neighbourhood on Thursday, July 23, according to an RCMP media release issued today, July 29.

Police seized ammunition, gun barrels, suppressors, gun slides, body armour, 3D printed licence plates and police patches. They also recovered a stolen motorcycle.

“This investigation demonstrates the Crime Reduction Unit’s commitment to disrupting the manufacturing and possession of firearm components in our community,” Kamloops RCMP Supt. Jeff Pelley said in the release. 

A person in the home when police arrived was detained briefly and released, RCMP said.

Investigators are looking into the homeowner and police won’t be releasing any further details to the public at this time.
