More heavy snow for Coquihalla
THOMPSON-OKANAGAN — The Coquihalla Highway could see another 40 cm of snow by Tuesday morning as another series of weather systems hits Southern B.C. today.
Environment Canada has issued another special weather statement noting significant snow is expected over southern highway passes today with freezing rain closer to Hope. In the last 24 hours, 18 cm of snow has fallen on the Coquihalla Highway and another 25-45 cm is expected by tomorrow morning.
The statement has also been issued for Highway 1 from Eagle Pass to Rogers Pass where 20 cm is expected by morning.
Most areas saw at least some snow Sunday and in town there is a 40 per cent of flurries or rain today as temperatures reach just above 0 Celsius. Kamloops is expected to clear up after today while Vernon, Kelowna and Penticton can all expect a chance of rain through the rest of the week as well.
