UPDATE: Motorcyclist killed in crash on Kamloops’s Halston Bridge

A man in his 70s died in a motorcycle accident this morning in Kamloops.

Both Kamloops RCMP and B.C. Coroners Service are investigating a collision on the Halston Bridge around 9:15 a.m. today, April 27, which involved a three-wheeled motorcycle and a truck, each in the eastbound lanes, according to an RCMP news release.

Police say the motorcyclist hit the centre divider after losing control, causing him to fall from the motorcycle. The motorcycle then continued and hit a flat-deck trailer.

The bridge was closed to traffic, aside from one westbound lane, until around 12 p.m.

The victim's identity has not been released as the B.C. Coroners Service investigates his death.

If you witnessed this crash, and have not yet spoken to police, contact Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2021-13394.
