Sciarra steps down as Redblacks president after 0-9 start to season

OTTAWA — Adrian Sciarra is stepping down as president of the Ottawa Redblacks after an 0-9 start to the CFL season, the Ottawa Sports and Entertainment Group announced Monday.

OSEG says it has launched an immediate search for Sciarra’s replacement.

The organization expects to name permanent executive leadership for the Redblacks by the end of 2026.

Sciarra joined OSEG in September 2013, months before the Redblacks’ inaugural CFL season. He was named the team’s president on Feb. 17, 2023.

The team made the playoffs once over the previous six seasons.

Sciarra will remain with OSEG as president and alternate governor of the Ontario Hockey League’s Ottawa 67’s.
