Robotti bail decision tomorrow

PENTICTON – A decision on whether two people arrested in the death of Roxanne Louie will be released on bail is expected tomorrow.

Pier Louis Robotti and Grace Elinor Robotti, who are brother and sister, were charged in the murder of Louie, who was originally reported missing Jan. 4, 2015. Police discovered her body north of Naramata approximately a week after her disappearance.

Grace Robotti is charged with second degree murder, while Pier Robotti is charged with accessory after the fact to murder and interference with a dead body. The Robottis have been in jail since Jan.11.

A crowded courtroom heard details of the crime for the first time on March 2 as the Crown attempted to show why they should be denied bail. However those facts are untested and the court has banned publication of that information.

Judge Patrice Abrioux heard arguments from Crown Prosecutor Kevin Fotty and Defence lawyers James Pennington for Grace Robotti and Robert Maxwell, counsel for Pier Robotti prior to announcing he would hand down a decision on March 3 at 9:15 a.m.

You should check your facts before throwing racist comments around. The victim was aboriginal; the murderers are not.

Where do you get your facts Patrick? The people that want justice the most for Roxanne are the aboriginal peoples.

  3. BUT MUST REMEMBER THEY ARE ABORIGINAL VICIOUS CRIMES ARE FOGIVIBLE IN THEIR RIGHTS ;BUT IAGREE UNDER LAWS OF CANADA NO BAIL FOR VIOLENT ACTS AGAINST ANYONE IRREGARDLESS OF HERITAGE..

I would not allow bail for these “people” – yes, I agree with the courts and due process and whatnot, however, killing ANYONE (regardless of circumstances) and then lying and covering it up, having people out looking for the victim, sorry, no… no bail!

I have been looking for news in the South Okanagan - SImilkameen for 20 years, having turned a part time lifelong interest into a full time profession. After five years publishing a local newsletter, several years working as a correspondent / stringer for several local newspapers and seven years as editor of a Similkameen weekly newspaper, I joined iNFOnews.ca in 2014. My goal in the news industry has always been to deliver accurate and interesting articles about local people and places. My interest in the profession is life long - from my earliest memories of grade school, I have enjoyed writing.
As an airborne geophysical surveyor I travelled extensively around the globe, conducting helicopter borne mineral surveys.
I also spent several years at an Okanagan Falls based lumber mill, producing glued-wood laminated products.
As a member of the Kaleden community, I have been involved in the Kaleden Volunteer Fire Department for 22 years, and also serve as a trustee on the Kaleden Irrigation District board.
I am currently married to my wife Judy, of 26 years. We are empty-nesters who enjoy living in Kaleden with our Welsh Terrier, Angus, and cat, Tibbs.
Our two daughters, Meagan and Hayley, reside in Richmond and Victoria, respectively.
