KAMLOOPS — It has three wheels, wings and an engine which sounds fairly normal but when you see Jan Nademlejnsky flying above Kamloops you likely will have to do a double take.
Nademlenjnsky has been taking to the skies since 1974 when he first built himself a hang glider in Czechoslovakia. Five years later he crashed a motorized hang glider in Fort McMurray, AB, and after three years of recovery he tried out his first flying trike.
More than 20 years later he is still flying trikes, though now it is usually over Kamloops and with several cameras attached to the frame to capture the many different things he sees while up in the air.
In his more than 60 videos posted to his site he showcases the hills, valleys, lakes and rivers in the area, as well as a variety of wildlife. In his most recent video an animal that appears to be a wolf is seen running across the sand and in a video showing his 'most scary flight so far', in which he 'was like garbage bag in the wind' for a good part of the flight, he saw at least 15 eagles.
