THOMPSON-OKANAGAN – From brewhouses to outdoor theatre companies, a number of small businesses in the Thompson-Okanagan are being celebrated in a six-part video series.
It’s part of a project called Small Business, Big Culture that highlights select cities across B.C. and Alberta. Vernon, Armstrong and Kamloops made the cut, in addition to Medicine Hat, Lethbridge, and the Comox Valley.
Each video showcases the small businesses in each city. For Armstrong, you’ll see Caravan Farm Theatre, the Wild Oak Cafe, and Kronbauer Guitars. The video for Vernon tours viewers around the city with visits to Triumph Coffee, The Naked Pig, Sproing Creative and more. You’ll also hear interviews with the Downtown Vernon Association about the community.
For Kamloops, you’ll hear from Mayor Peter Milobar and Tourism Kamloops, as well as local businesses like Zach’s Coffee, The Art We Are, Kix4Chix and the Noble Pig.
The roughly 10-minute videos go a long way in capturing the spirit and atmosphere of the featured towns. The project was funded by a grant from TELUS OptikTM Local Community Programming.
