VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) — The Vancouver Canucks signed defenseman Zeev Buium to an eight-year contract extension Friday worth $9.38 million a season.
The 20-year-old offensive-minded defender had three goals and nine assists in 45 games with Vancouver last season. He was acquired from Minnesota in December in the blockbuster trade that sent Quinn Hughes to the Wild.
Buium has six goals and 20 assists in 76 career NHL games with the Wild and Canucks. From San Diego, he was drafted 12th overall by Minnesota in 2024 after helping Denver win the NCAA championship that year.
