Bond earns 7th shutout in last 8 starts as Dynamo play Kahlina, Charlotte to 0-0 draw
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Houston’s Jonathan Bond finished off his seventh clean sheet in his last eight starts as the Dynamo played Kristijan Kahlina and Charlotte FC to a scoreless draw on Saturday night.
Bond had a five-match shutout streak and 485-minute scoreless run for Houston (12-7-4) end in a 2-1 road loss to St. Louis City. He’s added two scoreless draws after making two saves to blank the Dynamo. Bond has 10 clean sheets in 23 outings this season and 21 in 138 career starts.
Kahlina finished with five saves for Charlotte (10-7-6) in his fifth shutout of the campaign and his 35th in 144 career starts.
The Dynamo couldn’t take advantage of a red card on Ashley Westwood that left Charlotte short-handed from the 71st minute on. Westwood will be suspended for Wednesday’s match.
Houston is 5-5-2 on the road. Charlotte is 7-3-4 at home.
