Hamilton starter Tre Ford out of Labour Day game with injury

HAMILTON — The Hamilton Tiger-Cats lost starter Tre Ford to injury in their Labour Day game versus the Toronto Argonauts on Monday.

Harrison Frost was under centre for Hamilton’s first possession of the third quarter. Afterwards the Ticats announced Ford, of Niagara Falls, Ont., wouldn’t be returning due to an upper-body injury.

Ford appeared to be hurt following a 23-yard TD run in the second quarter. He went under the tent on Hamilton’s sideline after scoring but returned to the bench shortly afterwards and led the offence out on its next possession.

Ford was four-of-nine passing for 75 yards in the first half as Toronto went into halftime leading 20-7.
