Missing Vernon man found deceased
The body of a missing Vernon man has been found in a forested area.
Scott Bailey, 41, was reported missing May 31.
Yesterday, June 3, a police investigation led officers to a forested area where his body was found shortly after 7 p.m., according to an RCMP media release.
The death is not considered suspicious by the RCMP.
The B.C. Coroners Service is conducting an independent and concurrent fact-finding mission to determine how, when, where and by what means Bailey came to his unexpected death, RCMP said.
Neither the police or the coroners service have further information to release at this time.
"Thank-you to all who assisted in the search. The Vernon North Okanagan RCMP offers our sincerest condolences to Scott’s family and friends during this incredibly difficult time," RCMP media relations officer Const. Chris Terleski said the release.
