2 recent COVID-19 exposures reported on Kamloops, Kelowna flights

Two flights with passengers who had COVID-19 landed in Kelowna and Kamloops in the last two weeks.

WestJet flight 3181 flew from Edmonton to Kelowna, May 29, reported a COVID-19 exposure affecting rows 16 to 20.

WestJet flight 3111, flying from Calgary to Kamloops, May 23, also reported a COVID-19 exposure affecting rows five to 11.

Passengers seated near a COVID-19 case are not directly notified of their potential exposure. The information is posted on the B.C. Centre for Disease Control website.

Where information on affected rows is available, passengers seated in these rows should be considered to be at higher risk of exposure due to their proximity to the case, according to the centre.

Passengers on a domestic flight with a COVID-19 case should self-monitor for symptoms for 14 days.

Anyone arriving in British Columbia from outside of Canada is required to self-isolate and monitor for symptoms for 14 days upon their arrival. Travel outside of Canada is not recommended at this time.
