Tourism Penticton plays musical chairs
PENTICTON — Tourism Penticton is playing a round of musical chairs, with newly appointed vice chair and board members.
Diana Stirling, who has been a member of the Society since its foundation in 2012, was promoted to the position of vice chair. She is also a local businesswoman and owner of LocoLanding Adventure Park.
The society also appointed two new board members, Lisa Baxter-Burke, sales and marketing manager from Hillside Estate Winery & Bistro, and Laura Hunt, marketing manager with Global Spectrum.
The board chair position remains unfilled, after former chairwoman Miranda Halladay resigned in January during the society’s ongoing conflict with the Penticton Hospitality Association. Both organizations believe there only needs to be one tourism marketing group in Penticton, and cannot negotiate a deal to divide duties.
