Man arrested for packing a pellet gun

KAMLOOPS — A 36-year-old man was arrested on Victoria Street near 6 Avenue this morning following a report he had a 9mm handgun tucked into the back of his pants.

Kamloops RCMP responded to the complaint at around 10 a.m. and when the suspect spotted them he ran, throwing the gun between some parked cars as he went. The officers were able to apprehend the man near the parking lot of the Frick and Frack, at which time they discovered the 9mm was actually a pellet gun replica.

The report said police also found a hunting knife, a small amount of drugs and drug paraphernalia upon searching the man. While no charges have been laid at this time, an investigation is in progress.
