Blackhawks’ Frank Nazar suspended 2 games for check to the head

NEW YORK (AP) — Chicago Blackhawks forward Frank Nazar was suspended for two games without pay by the NHL on Friday night for an illegal check to the head of New York Islanders forward Bo Horvat on Thursday night.

The hit came with 1:35 left in the Islanders’ 4-1 home victory. Nazar was assessed a match penalty.

Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement and, based on his average annual salary, Nazar will forfeit $68,041.
