Outdoor detective game puts Jack the Ripper on the loose in Kamloops

An outdoor detective adventure game is coming to Kamloops in September and teams are already signing up.

The teams will be challenged to solve a series of clues that take them all over the city within a given time frame. The objective is to catch Jack the Ripper, who is running loose around town causing terror.

The game is being hosted by CluedUpp Games, an international geo-gaming event company. The company aims to create immersive settings and scenarios to engage players and give them an intriguing adventure. CluedUpp murder mysteries have been played by half a million detectives in more than 40 countries worldwide.

Players use an app they download on their smartphones before the event. At least one smartphone is needed per team. Each ticket admits a team of up to six players and it takes between two and three hours to solve the mystery. The game is completed on foot and includes virtual suspects.

The secret starting location will be revealed in a pre-game briefing. Teams can pause the game for lunch, bring their dogs and dress up to add to the fun. There is also an opportunity to win prizes.

The question is, can your team of detectives scramble across town, solve the clues and crack the case before The Ripper strikes again?
