RCMP looking for witnesses of Kamloops tractor trailer truck crash
Mounties are investigating a crash on the West Trans Canada Highway that caused a truck to catch fire.
Kamloops RCMP received a report Monday, Aug. 2 around 5:50 p.m., of a crash involving two tractor-trailer trucks in the westbound lanes near the 1700-block of the West Trans Canada Highway, Const. Crystal Evelyn said in a press release.
According to the initial investigation, a truck caught fire after it rear-ended another truck.
The fire department was on scene tending to the flames when police arrived.
"Both drivers were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries," Const. Evelyn said in the release. "The road was closed briefly, then reopened partially while police collected evidence and clean up occurred. The investigation is ongoing."
Anyone who witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage capturing it is asked to please contact the Kamloops RCMP and reference file 2021-26596.
