Blue van smashes into vehicles then set ablaze in Kamloops

A blue van hit multiple vehicles while fleeing the scene of a robbery on Battle Street in Kamloops, before being discovered ablaze in Riverside Park.

At around 10:42 a.m., Aug. 3, Kamloops RCMP responded to a report of a robbery at a commercial location on Battle Street. They were told a blue van that was reportedly stolen fled the scene.

The van carrying three people then allegedly crashed into other vehicles on the way to Riverside Park, where it was eventually found to be on fire, Const. Crystal Evelyn said in a release.

Kamloops Fire and Rescue extinguished the flames.

Two suspects were located nearby and taken into custody, while a third was found and arrested near the Overlander Bridge. The three people are known to the police.
