Police appeal for tips after fire engulfs Vernon house

VERNON – Mounties are appealing to the public for information after a Vernon house caught fire Monday night.

“No one is believed to have been in the residence at the time of the incident, and the home is believed to have been vacant,” Molendyk said.

Firefighters managed to extinguish the fire before it spread to the surrounding area.

The cause of the fire is not known and authorities continue to investigate.
