Lake Country assault leads to attempted murder charge

A suspect is in custody facing a charge of attempted murder after an assault late last week in Lake Country put a man in hospital with life-threatening-injuries.

RCMP say the assault took place at a business in the 12000 block of Pow Road in Lake Country at 11:45 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 6.

The victim was assaulted with a weapon, according to an RCMP news release.

The suspect was still at the scene when police arrived, RCMP said, and the men were known to each other. Investigators believe the assault was an an isolated incident

Jermain Goren Walker, 29, has been charged with attempted murder and remains in custody.
