Sketch of child luring suspect released

KELOWNA – Local RCMP have released a composite sketch of the man they suspect tried to lure a 10-year-old boy in the Springvalley area late last month.

According to a release, the Kelowna boy was approached by an unknown male who was riding a scooter near Gramiak Rd. and Mary Ct. Feb. 26 at around 2:30 p.m.

Const. Kris Clark of the Kelowna RCMP says the man asked the boy “if he wanted to talk” and said his house was just down the street.

“The boy ignored him and the man asked if they could meet later,” Clark says in the release.

His is believed to have been seen in the area of Springvalley earlier that day and was last seen heading east on Saskatoon Road.

He is described as a 40 to 50-year-old Caucasian male, around 6’ tall with a thin build and pale complexion. He has grey/white facial hair, light brown eyes and a fresh wound with stitches near his right eye. He was last seen wearing a long, navy blue or black jacket, black jeans, a toque, sunglasses and gloves.
