
Woman assaulted, robbed in downtown Penticton
Police are asking for witnesses to come forward after a woman was assaulted and robbed in downtown Penticton earlier this month.
A woman was using a parking metre near Main Street and White Avenue at around 3:30 p.m., Aug. 5, when she was struck from behind by a man and fell to the ground.
The suspect grabbed her purse and took off on foot north on Main Street, according to an RCMP media release.
She suffered minor injuries.
RCMP describe the suspect a Caucasian male in his early 20s with a slim build and curly hair. He was wearing a dirty shirt and shorts, and had a backpack.
