More high temperature records in Southern Interior

SNOW FORECAST FOR HIGHWAYS

THOMPSON-OKANAGAN – One more day of record weather was had this week before temperatures dropped slightly in the Southern Interior.

While the entire region hit temperatures in the mid-teens Tuesday, March 10, at 15.6 Celsius, Vernon was one of the lucky ones in setting a new high temperature record for the day. Several records were broken Monday throughout the region as well.

According to Environment Canada forecasts, temperatures today will again reach the mid-teens, about five degrees above normal but just shy of records that range from 15.6 C to 20.6 C throughout the region. In the Okanagan temperatures will drop to just a few degrees above normal Thursday and Friday though Kamloops will remain at about 15 C for the rest of the week.

There is also a chance of rain in the Okanagan Wednesday and then across the region over the weekend. A chance of showers on Interior highways today and overnight could see as much as 5 cm of snow fall near the highway passes.
