Business community’s election forum for Central Okanagan-Similkameen-Nicola will be online

The Greater Westside Board of Trade and the Kelowna Chamber of Commerce are joining forces to host an all-candidates forum for the Central Okanagan-Similkameen-Nicola federal riding on Sept. 15.

It’s a virtual forum that will run from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

This will follow the same format as the Kelowna-Lake Country event the night before.

“This year, we're focusing on the Canadian Chamber's What it takes to Grow – Priorities for the next Parliament, as well as diving into the critical issues that impact our growing region including affordable housing, inter-provincial trade, infrastructure investments, global competitiveness and responding to labour market demands,” the Board of Trade website says.

There won’t be any opportunity for viewers to ask questions but they can send questions to hello@kelownachamber.org, even if viewers are not Board of Trade or chamber members.

The forum is open to all registered candidates but the Board of Trade website only lists Conservative incumbent Dan Albas along with Liberal Sarah Eves and Liberal Joan Phillip.

Kathryn McDonald is running for the People’s Party of Canada.

The Central Okanagan-Similkameen-Nicola riding stretches from Princeton to Logan Lake and from Merritt to Kelowna. The Kelowna part of the riding is basically from Highway 97/Harvey Avenue to Mission Creek.
